Beginner Pottery Wheel Class – Learn the Basics of Wheel Throwing in Vancouver
Ready to get your hands dirty and discover the art of wheel throwing? Our Beginner Pottery Wheel Class is the perfect introduction to ceramics for adults with little to no experience. In this 2-hour hands-on pottery workshop, you’ll learn essential skills like centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping both cylinders and bowls—the foundational forms of wheel throwing.
Led by experienced ceramic artists at Báhoo Studio in Vancouver, this class is designed to give you confidence at the wheel and a solid starting point for your pottery journey. You’ll also return for a dedicated glazing session, where you'll explore glaze techniques and finish your pieces using our custom in-house glazes.
What You’ll Learn:
How to use the pottery wheel with confidence
Techniques to center, pull, and shape clay into basic forms
How to make a cylinder and a bowl (two essential shapes in wheel throwing)
Introduction to glazing: underglaze painting & studio glaze finishes

Please ensure your availability for all scheduled classes. In the event that you need to miss a class, we understand. As part of our policy, you're entitled to one complimentary makeup session for each six-week course. If you anticipate missing any classes, please reach out to us via email.
